Ann Scalia, BSN

Ann Scalia joined IVPCARE in 2002 and is the Clinical Education Specialist for the Eastern part of the United States. Ann is a graduate of the New England Baptist Hospital School of Nursing and Northeastern University. Ann has been a practicing nurse for 23 years with the last 12 years specializing in infertility. Ann is the former Director of Surgical Services at Boston IVF. Ann served on the planning committee of the 14th Annual Serono National Nurses Planning Committee and the 15th Annual Serono National Nurses Planning Committee where she served as the Chair of the planning committee. Ann has presented both at regional and national levels. She hosted a round table entitled “Preconceptual Health Enhancement” at the 2003 American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) conference and also was an invited speaker at the 2003 Florida Society for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility Annual Meeting, where she presented “Psychological Aspects of Infertility”. Ann is a member of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine and the Association of Peri-Operative Nurses/ Chapter One (AORN) where she served on the Board of Directors from 1999-2003 and was a member of their Continuing Education Committee from 1995-2002. Ann is specialty certified in Perioperative Nursing. Ann is an active member of the New England Fertility Society and was appointed Secretary on the Executive Board in 1997. In her role at IVPCARE, Ann has been very involved in providing consultative visits to centers regarding donor egg and ambulatory surgical centers. An expert regarding the issues associated with free standing operating rooms, Ann has been able to assist many clinicians with the initial setup and regulations regarding operating/surgical suites.
