On Your Mark, Get Set…Wait

I often noticed a nice looking man while on my way into the office. He worked for a different business in the same building, and our paths crossed often, although we never spoke. Then, the evening of the office holiday party, we finally started to talk. That night broke the ice and we were married three years later. (read more...)

Not Alone

When I first learned that I have endometriosis, it was 10 years ago and I was in college. I was upset, but I did not really understand the magnitude of the condition until later when I found someone I wanted to spend the rest of my life with. (read more...)

We Need a Larger Car

A good friend of mine tried many times to introduce me to John. Somewhat reluctantly, he and I finally agreed to meet, possibly just to get her to stop pestering us! We were engaged three months later and married after 10 months. I am certainly glad she was persistent with our introduction. As I said, she is a good friend! (read more...)

Our Own Little Cowboy

My husband and I have been married for seven years. I am a legal assistant, and my husband is an electrician. We first met at a rodeo through mutual friends. At the time, my husband was competing in the rodeo in the team-roping event. In a rodeo, you never can predict what will happen, and I have found that our lives are just the same way. (read more...)

One, Two, Three

For nearly three months, I was on complete bed rest in the hospital. The extent of resting included a bedside commode and the ability to bathe only every three days. There is definitely something in the number three for my husband and I, because after all of that, a happy, healthy set of triplets was born. Now, we say that we were blessed three times for the three years we spent trying to become pregnant. (read more...)

Children of My Own

I have always loved children. Even with my job I worked with children by supervising an after-school program for first through sixth graders. There were 170 children in the program, and I believe they were easier to take care of than my two at home! Although I say that, I am thrilled to be a stay-at-home mother of precious twin daughters. (read more...)

"Somehow, Someway, We Would Have a Baby"

My husband and I have known each other since junior high school and have dated since high school. We have been married for four years and have been through so much together. Sometimes, I think we still see each other as we did back in junior high, but now we are parents! (read more...)

"Take Advantage of Modern Medicine"

I've never been very career-minded, but I've always wanted to be a mother. I just did not realize that my dream would end up being a difficult one to achieve. (read more...)

“A Smile Makes It All Worthwhile”

My heart melted and I felt pure joy. My seven-week-old baby girl just smiled at me for the first time yesterday. That smile means so much, especially after everything my husband and I went through to have this precious bundle in our arms. (read more...)

"The Most Special Gift

For nearly half of my life, I thought I would never be able to have children. I first knew that I had a problem when I was seventeen years old and, unlike all of my friends, had not gotten my period yet. A trip to the doctor confirmed the reason why. I was born with premature ovarian failure. (read more...)

"Double the Pleasure"

I would never have imagined that at this point in my life I would be a single mother of twins, but here I am! Although the past events have been a struggle, both physically and emotionally, I can truly say that I am happy now and would not change a thing. I'll share my story with you. (read more...)

"Keep Your Goal In Mind"

"Keep your goal in mind" is a special motto of mine. That thought has helped me through my experiences with difficult pregnancies, multiple miscarriages and In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) procedures. I did what I had to do, with my goal in mind, and now my husband and I have two beautiful children. (read more...)

"Try, try, try again!"

" I recall a particular Sunday in church when I almost felt hopeless; I thought we would never have a baby. Then, the congregation began singing, "God will make a way where there is no way," and I suddenly knew I had to try, try, try again. (read more...)

"Two of a Kind"

I always knew I wanted to have children some day. About six years ago I had to undergo major abdominal surgery and I knew that the operation affected how I would be able to conceive. Thinking about what I went through then and sitting here with my twin sons now, I just feel very fortunate. (read more...)

"A Special Miracle"

After an emotionally draining, roller coaster year of trying to have a second baby, we went on our annual vacation with my husband's family. This year, our trip was to Disney World in Orlando. I suspected I might finally be pregnant when I hadn't started my period, but I had been so irregular that it didn't necessarily mean anything. I decided to take a pregnancy test...POSITIVE!
